That is why any other phone besides an apple takes a fast dive in value. Apple keeps their phones at set prices and every other manufacturer drops the prices 30-60 days after release. If i didnt know phones and was shopping to buy, I would say a $99 S3 is a pos phone. I would bever buy a $99 phone.

But, I see what you are saying. Price point does tend to set a perceived value;
cheap = cheap, throw away
expensive = high end, more perceived value

That's because samsung releases so many more phones than apple. They release maybe one per year, how many does samsung release?

That's my point, they tank the phone just by the sheer volume of phones the kick out.
