A better alternative then "Peel" <Samsung Smart Remote?!?

I just purchased a Samsung Note 10.1 yesterday and am looking for a better app then "Peel" to control and manage my TV and DVR experience. "Peel" seems like a great idea, however, it has very limited settings, the populated lists are small (probably for caching reasons), there is no option to record, I can't simply view the entire guide only the content populated. I do really like the top picks feature and how it tunes to list content that you like from what you have selected as a favorite or watched in the past.
I am seeking a guide/remote combo like "Peel" just better not a universal remote only or guide only app, I want to click on the content and pow it's on my TV! Links would be appreciated...

On another note possibly someone can help me resolve my "Peel" app from changing the input on my TV the first time I launch it. Problem is during the TV setup portion it asks what input your cable/satellite box is on, so I set it correctly, however, my TV doesn't have multiple input buttons just one input button that cycles through the inputs one after another and the "Peel" app seems to think that my TV has a button for each input, causing it to just advance me to the next input even when I am on the correct one and or am powered down! How do I fix this besides blocking the IR-Blasters path after I launch it e every time?

Thanks ahead of time!

Similar experience here with my Pioneer Receiver. Think will stick with my Logitech Harmony Touch remote for this use case.

It's much better now that it updated and learned my likes better! In fact I just used it because I was searching for news and Charter (my cable/isp) doesn't have a news genre option and after scanning all 800+ channels not finding what I wanted, I then grabbed my tablet and ran Peel and found what I wanted in 30secs of picking up my tablet!

I just started using peel on my Samsung note and I can not change the channels on my local TV stations...it has no decimal point to enter for channels like "32.2" I can access only the single digit channels...and I can nott advance the channels manually...any ideas?

If you cant find how to or if its missing drop them an email, there may have a fix or add that option. U never know

I just got my galaxy note 10.1 and I have to say that Peel is by far the most disappointing part. The lack of options on the remotes is one thing, but it appears that Peel is nothing more than another glorified ad delivery piece of trash. It uses push notifications to deliver ads for garbage television. You can select to turn off the notifications in the settings, but it doesn't actually stay toggled off when you exit.

Getting unwanted notifications about celebrity wife-swap is a prompt for me to reset the app and pretend it is not there. Hopefully as mentioned above there will be a better app developed soon as even more devices come out with infrared transmitters.

If you use Xfinity/Comcast service you can use their app to scroll through program listings (with program descriptions), change the channel on your TV or set your DVR.

Thanks... Peel is way better now in the USA! I believe Samsung is using it for testing the simular app in some of their new smart TV sets, at least it's gotten much better since the release of them! This is one app I recommend always updating as well as keeping a few older versions to roll back on. Don't get me wrong it's still a little buggy but much better with a few new features!

Been using the built-in app on my Galaxy phones since back when it was called something else, not Peel. Kind of satisfied, except for those video ads that has been introduced lately. Any known way to get rid of those without violating TOS?

Use the dash. -
