I've heard that using an otg cable for extended times or leaving it plugged in continuously can damage a phone, but how about a tablet (Nexus 7)? And number two, I rooted my nexus 7 so that I can use an otg cable for extended storage, but would I be able to directly run apps from It?

I can not see why an OTG cable could cause any damage the stock charger cable would not cause. That sounds like someone was just making wild guesses.

And that is a no on the apps they have to be installed on the tablet to be run but honestly apps are real small compared to videos which can be streamed from the cloud or USB drive.

Thanks for the reply, I meant to ask this last question, when viewing recent apps, is clicking ''remove from list'' only clearing the history, or is it conserving battery life by actually closing the app? Thanks again.
