a couple questions from a iPhone switcher

A couple things I wanted to do when I got my galaxy s4 is run certain apps in the lock screen, while blocking all others, when I have a lock. But whenever I try it, I can't find any apps in the lock screen, all I see is the pin entering thing, and the clock

Also, I would like to be able to see notifications, and the contents of a message in the lock screen.

Any ideas?

Can you swipe to the right? Meaning to bring a page from the left to the center?

You might need an app to do this. This was a feature in Samsung a while back but they got rid of it. It is a feature in Android L, but if that feature makes it on Samsung's version of Android is questionable.
