A couple quick Pocket Casts screenshots ...

Yup. It filters out the video podcasts for this interface. I was wondering about that. That's a good thing. Wouldn't want folks trying to watch video while driving. I've always had this app on my tablets at home. I didn't bother to put it on my phone because I tended to listen to and watch podcasts while relaxing at home, but I'll try this in the car. My commute isn't long enough to complete most podcasts, but it's a nice option.

What unit is this from? On my 4100NEX, the whole interface seems stretched out horizontally, but these screenshots look like the correct aspect ratio. Does it look stretched on your unit?

That's the 4100. What phone are you using?

I'm on a 2014 Moto X running 5.1 (it was also stretching on 5.0). It's most noticeable on the play/pause buttons in the music section and the home button in Auto.

On a side-note, how did you take screenshots of the Auto interface? Is that an option in the developer menu?

I'm really happy to be able to use Pocket Casts on Android Auto (and have been a good bit already), but there's only one problem. My steering wheel controls don't work for it (to skip forward and back), but the controls work on the screen. My steering wheel controls work great for Google Play Music though. Anybody else have this problem? I have a 4100NEX.

I'll have to try it next time I'm in the car.

Question: Do you have more than one podcast queued up for playing? Does the Android Auto interface in Pocket Casts even allow that? Maybe you have to have the podcasts as part of a play list before you can queue through them with the steering wheel controls?

It doesn't allow that I think. I was thinking that the buttons on the steering wheel controls should work for skipping ahead 30 seconds or 10 seconds back (the defaults for the buttons in the actual app) or let you skip forward or back a different amount if it's set differently in the app. Instead, it does nothing. However, if I control the podcast through Bluetooth instead of Android Auto, it works like expected. I figure maybe the Pocket Casts app just needs to be updated or something.
