I preordered the Atrix and at first loved it. Within 30 days it was exchanged as it kept powering off. The next one lasted about 2-3 months then went back with serious screen issues. The screen would go crazy, like it was randomly being pressed all over. It honestly looked like it was having a seizure. Number 3 lasted until recent. The wifi went out and the phone would reset, a lot. Long story short, after att offered me the option of my 4th Atrix or a free pantech, I told them to shove it.
The Bionic is much faster. Even on wifi, downloads are much faster. If I stay off 4G, the battery isnt much worse than the Atrix was. I have to admit, I was able to make it till 8pm with no problems with the Atrix. I also wasn't using a bunch of battery saver aps, I just used it and it lasted.
The wifi signal is much stronger, I am able to go anywhere in my house with full strength wifi. None of my atrixs could do that, and performance showed too.
The bionic starts quicker. By a few minutes too, the Atrix acted like a PC, even once it was booted, it still took a bit before everything was up and running where you could use it.
I miss the fingerprint scanner. I had good luck with mine, every now and then I had to reboot to get it working again. That was far between though, I hoped this was going to be something that caught on.
The Atrix was glitchyer than the Bionic. I know their specs are similar, but they really are 2 different machines.

And the difference of networks? I have full service of 3G in my house, with 4G a mile away (hopefully coming here soon) where as with att i had 2 bars of Edge.....

So far, this is the best move I have made so far...

Both sprint and verizon have CDMA type networks.

Verizon uses EVDO for 3g and LTE for 4g

Sprint uses it's WiMAX for both tiers

Sprint has much less 4g coverage then verizon.

With sprint you have to pay $10 premium for a 4G phone whether you have 4g or not.

Sprint has a plan option for unlimited data.

Verizon did away with unlimited data unless you had a smart phone before 7/7/11. If so you are grandfathered in.

The voice comparison is nearly identical between sprint and verizon. It seems verizon does have more coverage. Though sprint has coverage in areas verizon doesn't and verizon has coverage in areas sprint doesn't.

I was an Atrix owner. My first Atrix kept overheating to the point I had to remove the battery. My second Atrix had no connectivity to 3G or HSPA or anything.

I really like my Bionic.

Thanks for the peak at what we would have been in for if the Bionic had been related as originally planned as the original bionic was basically the Atrix on VZW without the finger print scanner and a few other little changes

It would not be the phone it is now. Around the Atrix's release time they were calling for the Bionic to have half the ram it does now....

We never had an absolute final specs list (other than some stuff on Motos website which quickly disappeared) for the original device but yes this is one of the possible changes. The point is that the Atrix was Motos best device at the time and the first Bionic would have had similar innards and would likely have had many of the same issues (hardware and software)... so it's good VZW waited.
