A quick one about custom roms...please!!!

Hi all,
After downloading a custom ROM, should I copy it to my internal SD or my external SD Card for flashing? I'm going to install Paranoid Android 3+ today but I understand I have to perform a "wipe data/factory reset" action, among others. So I'm wondering, if I copy the ROM to my internal SD Card, won't it be cleaned or wiped as well? Thank you all.

I've always put the ROM on my external SD card for every phone I've had.

In twrp, you should be able to get away with just "wipe system", not a full reset.

Put it on your external sd card. I made a folder called root stuff. Then I put 2 folders inside that called Roms and backup. Before you flash your new rom make a backup and save it here so you can quickly go back if you dont like the new rom.
