A Review of the Galaxy Nexus and a Comparison to the GSII

For real, I am wondering, again and again, if there is some political crap going on in the background with this. All we want is a concrete date. It could be November 27 but at least it would be concrete!!!!

well, the projected release time was always "November"; which was established months and months ago, regardless of whether it be November 10, 17, 21, etc. point being, it's going to be in november. my guess is it'll be November 17.

Verizon is focusing on the RAZR launch. They know there are plenty of geeks who will buy the Nexus when they get around to releasing it. But the RAZR is their main target this holiday season.

Supposedly there were still some issues with data connectivity that they want to get worked out. Don't want another bionic with constant data issues. Verizon said end of year they never said november, it was just rumors and "leaked documents" that tech sites ran with and spread the rumor mill off of that.

Then why have a big event for the rezound and release it 3 days later??

That was a pretty decent review. It just makes me want the GN more and, in no way makes me want a SGS 2 at all.

I may be the minority but if the sgs2 would have came to verizon with lte I would have got it and would not have thought twice about the nexus. It's a shame verizon didn't offer both devices.

It is a shame, they could have made a lot more money because, at the time; I probably would have went for the SGS 2 also, instead of another Iphone, as I'm sure many people would have.

I'm considering the Razr....I should do you guys a favor and get it because the minute I do the GN will be announced for the next day release....

I am in the same situation. I am trying to hold out but the razr is looking good and getting good reviews and it seems the nexus is having issues with data connectivity and battery life. Come on verizon just announce a date already.

Where are you hearing this?

Really? It was sure nice to see more of ICS, but the reviewer seemed to think all the things in Touchwiz (which i love) were actually part of stock 2.3 and kept saying "Google took them out", as if they were a part of stock Android to start with. Admittedly, I like the things (notification widgets, etc) that Touchwiz brings - and can't for the life of me understand why stock android can't offer these - it still seems like a misleading comparison of features. He also didn't realize you can customize the dock icons on the GS2 as well, just not the same way as on the Nexus.

If he really wanted to compare the 2, I would have loved to see browser comparisons - speed in opening pages, etc, and the like.

That said I appreciated the g-mail comparison, the visual explanation of the menu virtual button, and a few other side-by sides he did. Overall though, while not a good review, I l o v e d seeing ICS. I can't wait for the device to hit VZW ..

+1. I probably would have also.

Really? .

Yeah really, I can't wait for this to hit VZW also. I'm sure the SGS 2 is a nice phone but, this all is reminding me of nearly a year ago. I wanted the Nexus S but, followed all the forums and complaints about it and, didn't get it at first.

I instead chose the MYtouch 4G. HTC sense had a lot of things I liked very much but, I still thought about the Nexus S. It wasn't until I decided to get the Nexus S that I saw the differences I liked. The important thing I realize is, to get the device in your hands and, judge for yourself, what you like or don't like.

I like all the Google stuff, gmail, synced contacts, car home, and google voice. The nexus dominated the Mytouch using all these things IMO. The Nexus phone was also much more responsive, booted and shut down much faster.

Everyone has their taste. I guess I'm just a Nexus fan at heart, every since I got the N1 and, I hope Google continues to make these phones. :)

From testers on twitter and on droid-life on various articles.

Those aren't enough to make your statement.....tweets and miscellaneous articles with no solid backup is not a good source. I think we need to wait for the final build and reviews before making statements that the nexus has "issues" of any kind. Otherwise we are just speculating.

Pretty sure testers have a good idea since they are testing the phones. Nobody said you had to listen.

Then why did they slot the whole month of Dec. for in store promos. of Samsungs devices.

That was a Htc event, they chose the date of announcement.

Next time you visit a retail store, stroll over to the Bionic display unit and say, thanks.
