What we really need a statement from BestBuy. After all, it was their Feb 7 official statement that announced "mid-February release" and "immediate pre-order availability" and started the whole madness.

I thought there was no official release date for this phone, and that is why I am not stressing like a lot of other people

The nearest thing to an official release date was that phrase "will be released in mid-February" in the Best Buy statement released on Feb 7. There has been no announcement at all from Verizon.

"Hey fans, we appreciate all the excitement about the anticipated launch of the ThunderBolt by HTC. We're excited too! Verizon 4G LTE is America’s fastest, most advanced 4G network & we want to ensure the advanced technology behind our first 4G LTE phone is flawless. We will announce its release date as soon as it is confirmed. Thanks for your support & patience while we work to bring you the ThunderBolt by HTC."

they posted this on facebook a half hour ago, I just now got to a computer and couldn't believe that they actually spoke and acknowledged the phones existence ... now my only question why couldn't this have been said weeks ago????? this was all I ever wanted to hear (besides a release date) why was that so hard for them and took them so long to say such a thing?

They actually said virtually the same thing on their Twitter feed about a week ago.

I have an announcement to make!

There will be no announcement. That is all.

What's the next date we're all putting all hopes on? March 3rd?

I like how same journalist that wrote article has link to article titled "Thunderbolt Release Conspiracy". This article in short is rumors are let out and orchestrated by Verizon. These rumors would help Verizon gauge consumers expectation as well build buzz. Like Hollywood would say their not such thing as bad press. Think about the change in price could see how far they could go. I would be lying to myself if I didn't believe business didn't deploy these tactic. However thing about conspiracy is you never know the truth.

I rarely believe in conspiracies. That's giving people too much credit, and you'd have to believe a large number of people are all involved. Seems very unlikely.

We are going to take this one date at a time. So far the lineup is 3/3, 3/4, 3/10, 3/17 and 3/31 ... has there been any indication towards 3/24? I am not sure.
