My Sprint One has some bar code sticker on its back. Any idea what it's for, why it's there and if I can safely get rid of it?

As mentioned before, it is for activation only. It has your serial number on it, but so does your phone in the "about" settings. Mine is off, and has been since day one.

Mine was off before my phone was fully activated. I just stuck it to the box for future reference.

Also keep in mind there should be another sticker with the same information already in the box! Well my att HTC One came with an extra.

Thanks for the good info. It was starting to fray and peel at the corners, which was what I was afraid of and prompted this thread. So now there's a clean bar on the back which hopefully will wear off soon!

I had a case on mine so the sticker was covered up but I just removed it. There's a sticky film left on the back. It's it safe to use soap and water or nail polish?

You should be able to use soap and water with some qtips. They'll keep you from wetting it down to much, and will pick up the film real nicely.

Just don't overload the qtips with the soap and water solution, just dampen them up a little.
