A1000 Storage Space

I just purchased the A1000 for my son to use. Everything as performed quite well, but I seem to be having a bit of an issue with the storage space available. I have an SD card inserted, but I can't put any apps on the SD card. The only option I have is to put them on the USB storage. Most of the apps don't even give me that option. Here is how the storage space looks right now:

Internal Storage:
Total Space: 503MB
Apps: 374MB
Misc.: 54.75MB
Available: 74.60MB

USB Storage
Total Space: 13.00 BG
Apps: 1.40GB
Audio: 160KN
Downloads: 576KB
Misc.: 53.25MB
Available: 11.54GB

SD Card
Total Space: 7.41GB
Misc: 1.06MB
Available: 7.41GB

Am I missing something here? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

I don't have answer to yr q re sd card coz I haven't tried it.
But there's a new update released that reallocate memory so u get 1.5G internal memory instead of 500M. Obviously not ideal but one step in the right direction.
