A200 Password Reset

Trying to help out a non techie friend.....He put a password to unlock his A200 and now he cannot get back in. Says that when he entered in the password it only prompted him to enter it in once, did not have the second "confirmation" entry field - never seen a device that did not have the second entry but since I did not see it I have to take his word for it. If there was a method I would root, unlock the bootloader and just install a custom Rom - but it doesn't appear to be possible. Any ideas?

After contacting customer support they gave me this link, and because I was so frustrated I'm giving it to you. Just watchout for which buttons are which. It gets kind of wordy.

When I do that It shows the android and then the android dies does that mean my tab is dead
