Are you using a screen lock at all? Like PIN, pattern or password, not just the swipe method.
I too suffered from pocket issues not like pocket dials, mine was battery drain from the screen being on so much, but here is what I found.
First the real issue was that the thin material of my pocket did very little to insulate the device from phantom touches especially when the temps were up, as the slightest perspiration of my thigh was enough for the device to sense skin beneath. I first tried reducing the screen sensitivity. On the A36 you'll find this setting by navigating to Settings>Display>Touch sensitivity and following the instructions. I also tried enabling the Accidental Touch setting which you should find in that same menu. For me these worked about 70% better but still ended up not being enough. That was when I began flipping the phone in my pocket. I don't make a habit of bumping up against things or pushing them with my hip and I am fully aware my device is there so for me placing the phone screen out was the true solution. My thigh no mater how sweaty cannot activate the screen if it can't touch it. Alternatively, I've seen people say they place things in their pockets between them and the phone to prevent accidental touches with the screen facing in. This wouldn't work for me. I don't have the will or the enthusiasm to remember to place a piece of paper, microfiber cloth or anything else in my pocket everyday and then try to create a barrier between me and the phone... Flipping screen out was just the easiest. Some say oh what about the glass aren't you worried? Sure but most devices these days have glass backs so I could turn that same logic back to them. Back glass, front glass, and even if the back is plastic it can still be cracked or damaged if one is not careful. Since I'm talking about it, I also flipped the phone top down to keep debris out of the 3.5 mm headphone jack. Now I' m back to bottom down because of the USB-C port. Those things are huge.
Anyway, good luck. Let us know what you find.
