A5 2017 heads up / preview notification disable?

Hi guys,

I have been searching and googling whole day, but my problem still isn't solved.

Whatsapp gives me "heads-up" notifications, which means when I'm showing someone else a video, they can read my message on top of the screen. I don't want this, but in the settings and advanced settings, I can't turn it off. Off course I still want a small notification on top of the screen, but not with the message content.

I tried ADB programming already, it just doesn't seem to work.

Anybody ideas, to solve this without root?

Hey @Sander V Welcomes to AndroidCentral Hopefully we can get you sorted.

The only option WhatsApp gives you is the ability to disable "Pop-Up" messages. This can also be customised for Group and 'Single' chats. Looks something like this. You will still get a notification tone and LED indicator light (if your device has one) when a message comes through.

Is this what you looking for?

The only other way I know of to not allow people to read your messages is going into your sounds and notifications and disabling message content when device is locked.

Hi Matty, those settings won't work.. It looks like Samsung blocked the option, because on internet I can see other Android devices have the option to disable "peek", or something similar..

Is this the "Peeking" you are talking about? I'm sure you can do it. Let's be positive and don't give up!

Hi there! I just bought a Samsung A5 2017 and I don't receive notificatios on Skype. I did priority the notifications, still nothing. Please help! Thanks.
