Had my a500 since July and all has been fine, upgraded to 3.2 went well and the tablet has not been rooted. until today. Was on a flight cross country yesterday reading and watching videos and when i got home i forgot to plug it in to recharge. So unit drained down to complete discharge.

This morning, when i went to plug it in ....nothing . it turns on as long as i have it connected to power but the minute i disconnect the charging cord it shuts off. the battery is not charging no matter how long i leave it plugged in but works as long as its connected to power, also on the lock screen it says " plug in charger"

and the battery icon shows a "?"

it seems like the battery is completely fried and not taking any charge.

anyone have the same issue before i try and contact ACER??

how long have you tried leaving it on a charger. I had a similar issue with my phone once, and it just needed a longer period on the charger before it would acknowledge the battery charge. if that's not it, not sure if it'll help, but try booting into recovery and see if you can wipe your battery stats. again, not sure if it's on stock, but i have the option through cwm.

If you do have to contact acer, good luck. I hear their customer service is horrible.
