Does anyone have experience with online companies that buy your used cell phones? There is a site called flipsy.com that shows you various site prices for your used phone. They pay for shipping.
If I wanted to sell my Verizon S5 on ebay, does the buyer have to be a Verizon customer?
Thanks,
Monica

I would suggest selling or trading in person. I've seen stories of people selling online and never seeing the money or being credit far less than originally quoted. Of course the condition of the phone matters upon receipt and inspection. But I've seen it happen for even good phones.

Edit: Regarding your second question, the phone may only work on Verizon. So you should have a disclaimer advising so to be safe. Provide the model number of the S5 (SM-G900V For Verizon) and advise if the esn is clear to be activated.

Yeah definitely try eBay or something. Not a big fan of those places, plus they won't pay out as much as you can get selling direct.

That's kinda what I thought (about the online buy back sites). Thanks for the info on selling on ebay too.

I use amazon. There is an option to return the phone to you if they don't agree with the grading you submitted. Or you can accept their lower grading. Free shipping both ways

Amazon was listed on the site I mentioned above but they were only offering $90. Verizon will give me $100 but that's probably on a trade-in. I'm hoping WM will do with the S7 what they did with the S5 two years ago and put the phone on sale for $100 within a month of it's release. If they do, I'd be fine with Amazon's $90 offer. But if I can't wait and have to pay $199, I'd like to get more for my phone. Frankly, the more I read here, I'm finding it easier to live without the S7 :( Seems like the phone has a lot of issues.
