I didn't realize how negative all the posts are on this site until i checked out another forums (androidforums) haha

everyone over there is like..

"what feature are you most excited about!!???"
"omg my best buy shows in stock date of the 21st!!! lets hope and pray thats it!"

here...

"we havent heard anything.. march"
"the price is killing me"
"the best buy date shows the 21st... but theyre definitely wrong"

It sucks that this forum has more posts and more active users, but seriously guys, the negativity is horrible.

Also, this appears to be a great thread to follow as this guy works at BB and has up to date information what is going on for them...

Best Buy Details - Android Forums

PS: if i am not allowed to post about another forum, please delete this thread and accept my apology.

I totally agree, but being angry / pissed off about it gets you no where...

Think of it as something to look forward to, like an opportunity :)

I'm sorry that you feel that way but I implore you not to rush to judgement over a few posts. I've been a member of this forum for over a year and a half. I have seen this forum grow over that span for the better. I believe in terms of members we have the best because they are loyal and friendly. On most other sites you will see people asking for help and the most someone will reply is "search". The anticipation over a phone will bring out the worst in people but don't let a bad bunch spoil it for you and the rest.

There are many positive posts in this thread, I know because I have to know. I understand your point but all forums have their bad posts. It's up to you to figure out what you can put up with.

Just remember this is a highly rated forum for one reason, its not because of the Rom makers, and its not because of the exclusive android news...its the best members the internet can offer. =)

You are right, and I should have been more specific... AC's HTC Thunderbolt section has much negativity.

Either way, once this is released, I am excited about the TB community because it will obviously be really involved.

Cool thanks for sharing....you may wish to consider that when the phone comes out the Thunderbolt fourm of this site will completely change....but do not take my word for it...go to our android central EVO 4G forum site...you will see that it has lots of expert and technical knowledge and sharing...so I wouldn't worry about it. We are all just crazy about the phone right now....what I like about this one (and I checked out like 4 before I signed up) is that it has the experts and newbies like me...and everyone is friendly. I need lots of what I conside "good question threads" even though they are at a beginner level, and I am getting advise from people who I can tell are VERY knowledgable....

I don't think we're all negative. I am beyond excited to finally upgrade from my Storm (What a fitting name!), and, yes, I am very negative about that disaster of a phone. Luckily, I am a very patient person and if it comes out in 2 weeks instead of 2 days, I'll be fine. I'm really looking forward to finally getting an Android phone. I'm also looking forward to seeing all the modifications that people on here do to it. I'm probably the least tech savvy person on this site, so seeing what everyone else does, and how they do it, will be extremely important for me. I don't think the people on this site are too negative, although some surely are. I think it's just a lot of people's excitement getting the better of them, and the lack of patience, which is becoming a very serious problem in this age of instant gratification..

I respect you're right to give a negative opinion of this forum, even though it might be somewhat hypocritical but I digress.

We are not negative for the most part. When it comes to smartphones (especially Android smartphones) most people sign a 2 year contract, which obligates them to stay on that designated network (unless you pay the ETF). This will cause negativity towards a device because who wants to pay more when you are already signing up for a 2 year contract (24 months X 75$ min. = $1800) which is a lot of money already.

People in this forum want to feel like they got the bang for the their buck. Who doesn't want to get a device and feel like they got the best for the money they paid for it?

Negative, I do not think this forum is overall. Critical, yes we all are and that is what makes us all great. Everybody who considers themselves a Critical Android user and abuser, throw a hand up.

*Throw both hands up* haha.

If we were all satisfied with 1 device and didn't have the option to be choosy, we would be iPhone users :p

I think it's because you guys are a bit more tech-savvy here. You know when we (or any other Android site) runs a story about the TBolt release date, that we're working with rumor and not direct word from Verizon. This means you guys will be a bit more skeptical.

Here's something that might cheer you up --
I talked to someone recently who has used/tested 3 unreleased Verizon phones (he's a VzW employee and testing phones is part of his job). He plans to purchase the TBolt for his personal device as soon as employees are able, and says it's the best phone he's ever used.

lol, from that forum, posted a lil bit ago

"so, bad news, just checked my toolkit and we have a correction notice for the ad tomorrow.

The Thunderbolt is being delayed, and Skype video calling won't be available.

We don't give a date or anything...but I think the skype thing isn't a big issue, it'll be pushed out later...but the delay...wow. "

Good to know, sounds like it will definitely be worth the wait.

My BB Curve is driving me crazy, the TB can't come soon enough.

its called being passionate! im a big contributor to the negativity about the tbolt but i am loud and love to voice my opinion! i love that i can come here and do it. i love when people join my view and oppose my view. that is what makes it fun for me. dont get me wrong, i think VZW is doing a TERRIBLE job of releasing info about this phone and needs to look at their process for future releases. i will not go through this again. i love my technology, i pay damn good money for it and i want to be treated like the valued customer i am.

PS-i do go to androidforums from time to time, but androidcentral is 100 times better than androidforums.

I digress that at times, people may take their passion for the Tbolt to all new levels, but at the same time, it's been a long wait for people looking for an EVO-like (in terms of size) device on Verizon. I totally understand people's frustration when they keep hearing different dates being tossed around, but we all also have to keep in mind that Verizon has never gave an official date. Admittedly, that could even add to the frustration.

I'm with edizzle, I call it passion more than anything else. :)
