I'm trying to port thunderom for personal use from the s forum. I followed mmarz and leslieanns directions on porting an s rom to v in the sticky and can't seem to get any rotation working. Can someone give me some insite to y? Or is it a lost cause?

Which kernel are you using? Try flashing a V specific kernel on top of the rom.

I tried picasticks and still no accelerometer. I did the build prop like you stated and did the file swaps as leslieann stated in her post. Flashed picasticks and no rotation. I don't know if I'm missing something when I do it or what. And mms wont work either doubt if its tied together. I get everything but those 2 problems. I pulled from stock and from harmonia and reborn. Same thing.

Try the Xionia kernels I posted somewhere on here. All of the necessary files for that kernel are included in the zip. Usually, when something like the rotation does not work, it is because it is using drivers that don't match the kernel.

Mms has no chance of working (easily) because VM uses a different encryption than the norm. It took them forever to get CM7 mms working.

Thanks mmarz your always a big help appreciate it.
Ill just go to harmonia or bumblebee and tweak the look and feel of them until I get what I like lol.

could you post up thunderom when your done? just seems like something new to flash

I wasn't going to post it I was going to use it for my personal use as to I use to be an Optimus s owner and loved the rom. Since I'm not a dev and have no clue how to get mms working I'm not going to even try to port for personal use. Besides to post it as a ported rom. someone would have to ask the dev of thunderom (though the s rom is dead) permission to do so if he would even allow it.

Maybe if I swap the apn it may work for mms. Then it may be deeper then that I have no clue. But its worth a shot have to learn some how lol.

Mms still wouldn't work with apn swap.

Flashed xionia 13 fixed rotation now reading on how to fix mms. Thanx again mmarz. Is it possible to create a gscript to have mms working?

From what I understood about the MMS problem, the framework from the stock VM contains a portion of the MMS capabilities that encrypts the MMS in a different way than other provides do it. That means that incoming MMS's can't work because your phone doesn't know how to read them. AOSP figured out how to do it for his CM7 port but he never shared any details about it. The Froyo roms use the stock framework from VM or at least started with the VM source code. Your best bet to make MMS work is to start off with a VM rom that is very close to thunderom and then add the modifications from thunderom that are missing. Or just live without MMS. I email.

Yeah I was doing alot reading and found that out lol. Google is not my friend at this point lol. Yeah I think I can live without mms like you said there's mail. Apperciate the learning experience thanks mmarz.
