Access Goggle Assistant w/o voice or buttons

I use gestures on my Xiaomi and from what I can tell, MANY upcoming and recent phones are implementing gesture support. This eliminates the on-screen home and back buttons.

My question is, without the home and back buttons, how on Earth are we meant to launch Google assistant in situations where we can't or don't want to speak?? I won't ever say "Hey Google" to launch it unless I'm at home.
