Is nobody here interested in buying drop protection for their $1,000 phone? I can’t believe that this is nowhere being discussed.

I asked the question here a few days ago and got only one reply about a third party insurance that was $99 deductible.

Is that the only option? Are you all really ok with loosing $1000 if you drop your phone?

I don't know too many people that don't have insurance. I know T-Mobile's jump or jump on demand the insurance is already baked in.

I would imagine all the major carriers offer some sort of total equipment protection. Or a third party like Square Trade. Rather silly not to insure our $1,000 toys.

Haven't put insurance on a phone since 2012. I have yet to have a phone stolen, haven't accidentally broke one either.

I have not had insurance either in years. But for some reason I felt compelled to get it with this phone so I did via AT&T. Maybe because it's the first phone I have felt I actually like and plan on keeping for a while.

At least I hope. Lol

In the long run, on average, you save money if you self-insure and pay any repair or replacement costs yourself. If that weren't true, insurance companies would go broke instead of making a profit. Just take the money that you would've paid as a monthly premium and set it aside instead in case your device is lost or damaged.

The only time insurance makes sense is for an event that is very unlikely but which, if it does happen, would be a financial catastrophe that you could not recover from for many years, if ever.

Worth Avenue Group. About $80 paying in full for the year up front (prorated refund if you cancel) and $50 deductible. Covers everything.

You could always go to the Square Trade website and purchase insurance. I paid $129 for a two-year plan... For a 1000 dollar phone it's worth it in my opinion
