Hey guys,

So I accidentally bought a US Cellular Moto X on eBay. Is there any way to get it to work for At&t?
I went to their site and it says this under features: "3G CDMA 850/1900MHz EvDo Rev A/4G LTE"

I wasn't really sure because I read some other post that said that the FCC ruled that every new phone had to have GSM even if it was CDM based.

Thanks,

I would think you could unlock it and use it just fine but I could be wrong. On the bright side, if you are able to use it on Att you would be able to unlock the bootloader whereas with the Att version, you are in the grip of their tyranny:)

Oh man thanks a lot on the quick response I was kinda freaking out. It would work even though it says its CDMA?

Any tips/links on how to unlock it? Should I use these unlocking sites I see all over youtube? Or would the At&t store be able to do it?

Does it use a sim card? all at&t phones use sim cards.

If I'm not mistaken US Cellular uses CDMA. If that is the case, it shouldn't work on AT&T.

I think that is true, that is why I asked about the sim card just to be sure.

All LTE phones have a SIM card, and the Moto X phones all have GSM radio hardware (even those for CDMA carriers), but US Cellular insists that their Moto X will not be unlocked to work on any other carrier. I got this from US Cellular Roaming Tech Support this morning. I've been considering moving from my Electrify M to the Moto X and thought that this would be a good way to get a 'world phone'. It doesn't seem like that is the case.
