Dear S3/Android users,

I'm a new convert from iPhone --> Android (Samsung Galaxy S3). As I was trying to figure out how things worked, I accidentally deleted the apps drawer icon on the main screen! I tried to find it again in settings and elsewhere but I just can't seem to locate where I can drag the Apps Drawer Icon back to my home page.

Please help!

Thank you!

What launcher are you using? You cannot delete the app drawer icon from the dock with the stock touchwiz launcher. For Apex you need to long press the homescreen and select apex action, after that you can select the app drawer icon, nova is the same process.

The same is true for Nova Launcher (except select Nova Action, of course).

Thank you so much! I'm using Nova... how do I long press the homescreen for the Nova Action?? When I longpress the home button, only my active apps pop up.

Sorry I'm just really confused!

No, do not long-press the Home button; just long-press somewhere on one of your home screens.

For those who are confused about the long touch home screen thing, another way is to go to Settings, go to Application Manager, find your launcher and force stop it. When you return to your home screen all peace has been restored right where you left it! Why do they let deleting the app drawer even be an option? Lol cuz for someone who doesn't know any better, that's a scary sight to see!

I did the same thing - jumped from iPhone and this one is scary! Apple I know - which is why I now have a Galaxy.....

That happened with the new "maps" update, nothings been deleted, they're just gone. You'll have to roll back the update to get those shortcuts back.
But everything still works the same.

I also accidentally deleted my App Tray Icon and i cant seem to have it back. I am using Solo launcher. Can someone help me please?

If you long-press in an empty spot on a Home screen you'll see an options menu

Select 'Solo Actions' and you'll see a new list of options

the uppermost of which is 'App Drawer'. Select that and it'll appear on your Home screen; then you can just drag it back into the empty space in the dock.

Happened to me too (meant to press edit) I tried long pressing but "Nova Action" doesn't show up. It just give options to add a widget or go to settings.
