Accidentally tried micro usb

How fragile is the charging port on these devices? I asked my wife to plug my phone in and she tried a micro USB rather than type c. She didn't like force with all her might but she still did try to plug it in.

Any port can be damaged with abuse. If damaged, hopefully your model phone could support Wireless Charging.

I wouldn't call it abuse. She tried to plug in and it didn't work. Not like she kept ramming it. Just made me wonder how these ports hold up

I would think that they would hold up better than a micro USB because it fits in any orientation
I have tried to force a micro USB a time or two into other phones and never damaged one yet. I am enjoying the USB c I bit the bullet and got a USB to USB c cable for connecting to a computer and a USB c car charger.

I just recreated this (very gently) and noticed that the micro USB hits the center piece in the port immediately. It can't really even fit in the port.

It's all good, since this should give you wife credits Next time you were to do something wrong, the credit is used and you are covered. Win!

Nice. Yeah after looking at the port it seems that the middle piece would stop a micro USB from even being inserted. You'd have to basically intentionally jam it in with a lot of force to do any damage
