Accidently deleted the dcim folder while exploring the "my files" folder. Can photos be retreived?

I accidently deleted the dcim folder while exploring the "my files" folder. Can photos be retrieved?

I was exploring the new software update on my Galaxy S9 and accidently deleted the dcim folder containing my photos.

I don't have an external SD card installed and I don't think I have my photos backed up to the cloud.

Is there a way to restore that DCIM file and get the photos back?

thanks for any help.

Jason.

I think there are recovery apps/programs out there. The thing is, once you start adding apps, those files that are marked for deletion get overwritten.

Do you have Google photos? That comes on most phones out of the box, and automatically backs up photos and videos.

Yes pie has a Trash folder go into settings in the gallery app look for trash and you should have a restore option there. I'm not certain if it works when you delete the folder from my files but definitely worth looking.

Thanks to you both! I discovered that google photos must have been enabled after the latest OS update...and found my photos there.

I have to say Google Photos also has its frustrations, but I think I have most of my photos recovered.

thanks again for the help, Jason.
