Acer 713 Casting Desktop Doesn't Fill TV Screen

[Android Central Question]

Got an Acer 713 for Christmas, and everything seems great except it struggles to play .mkv files (no sound or no picture) and you can't drop an .mkv video onto a Chrome tab and watch, and when you cast the desktop to a TV, it does not fill the screen. I'm using the Android version of VLC which seems to play most (but not all) .mkv files. I understand the differences with 3.2 aspect ration and the TVs 16:9 ration. But Windows handles this fine.
