Whenever I try to update some of the apps on my acer it gives me an "unable to install" message, it seems to download just fine but it can't install the updates. Has anyone else had this problem?

I have not experienced this however:

I had this issue early on with another phone and market - Went through Settings - > Applications - > Manage Applications - > All Apps - > Market - > Cleared the updates and cache.. Then I could get the market to download and install..

Thanks for the info, I'll have to give it a try. It just recently started having this problem so I'm not sure what's up, I thought maybe it had something to do with the upcoming 3.1 release but really it's just a shot in the dark.

It happened to me when I copied a large file (>2Gb) into the tab. All my apps updates failed and I can't even install new app. I did not realised that the large file was the cause until when Mobiplayer failed to play the file (it was a HD video file by the way), I decided to delete the file anyway then I found out I can install and update apps again.

Try clearing Market cache/data, that should help. Interesting info about the large file issue, I'll have to test this and let my Acer contact know if it can be reproduced.

check to see if your internal storage is full. Some people are experiencing a bug on both the A500 and Xoom which falsely shows the memory as full. This also prevents apps from installing. The only cure I know of is to do a factory reset, but some people just have the same problem come up again.

I had heard that possibility about the full hard drive error, and I deleted some stuff to free up some room but it didn't help. I'm thinking about just waiting till 3.1 comes out to see if that fixes the bug.

Go to Menu>Settings>SD & Storage and how much free space it reports? If its reporting that your app storage is full, unfortunately right now the only fix I know if is to do a factory reset. This happened to me the other day and I had to reinstall all my apps from scratch.

Can you run a logcat and try and do an app install? I'm curious to see what its reporting.

I saw a similar problem on another forum and a few people thought it may be related to Google Music beta caching large mount of files. I'm not sure that was the real problem. But I don't have a large cache problem from Google music myself.
