Hey guys look this is gunna be a small little easy post, until i get some spare time but jsut to show things are moving for yall here is a cwm for your phone :)

https://psp-1.com/

in teh leafrom thread youll find the odin tools needed to flash this, select single package and teh ops file, throw this tar in pda and connect the phone in download mode. ill make a prettier post when i get the chance, but i figured id let yall know :)

credits:
hroark for getting teh prevail cwm (which without this would not have been possible for his hard work)
drockstar for being the cwm guru and helping :)
firehak for testing :)

Hey firehak or Shabby - I just want to clarify the instructions above. I believe what they should say is the following:

1. Select "One package".
2. Select the ops file (SPHM580.ops) in the "OPS" selection box.
3. Select this tar (cwm-replenish-shabby.tar) in the "One Package" selection box.
4. Connect to the phone in download mode (press "Space" and P while powering up)
5. Select "Start"

Is that correct? The original instructions said to put the tar file in PDA, but that is no longer selectable when "One Package" is selected.

Thanks,
and hopefully, if this is right, it will serve as a slightly better guide.

Simple and quick to install. Installed clockworkmod from the market and had no problem booting into CWM recovery mode. Works like a charm. Thanks Shabby!

One question - given the name of the tar file, if someone has EF27 installed, should they not use this CMW recovery?

Thanks!

this wont matter, its the recovery. IF you are not on leafrom then in /system/etc/ there is a file called install-recovery.sh

delete that or youll find cwm missing ;)

also btw, i think your using the wrong tar, its cwm-replenish-shabby.tar

Thanks - I did use the right ROM, but cut and pasted the wrong file name in the above post. I just corrected it.

I guess at this point, I can probably start trying to figure out how to get gingerbread and a kernel compiled for this phone, huh? Or do you already have a kernel that will work with Gingerbread up your sleeves?

Guess I was wrong. Dmrlook, you think you can port Gingerbread for us? That would be pretty cool. I really need to find some resources to learn this stuff.

I'm sure given enough time I could get gingerbread working now that I don't have to worry about bricking since I can always back up and restore. The problem is time. Full time job and two kids 5 and under means time is very limited! But hopefully I'll get some time to play.

I'm in no rush to see a port, I just like playing with this stuff. Your personal life should come first, obviously. :)

no honetsly gb is well over my head, im willing to give it a shot obviously but if replenish source is like the prevail then kernel source will be broken

What prevail kernel src is broken? Is it what is provided at samsungs open source web site? I have been able to build the kernel provided by samsung no problem. Obviously, this is not the right kernel for GB, but it did build without any issues.

the source compiles fine and gets you a nice zimage, which i then pack into a boot.img and then it refuses to boot.

And it was sucessful!! I have cwm on the replenish.:)
Thanks shabby.now I backed up and the zip file I did on uot kitchen I installed and its workin and worked..so now more freedom to install customized themes.:)
