[ACS] CWM 4.0.1.4 port

I followed DMR's directions from this thread using the TAR from this thread and the OPS file/zip from the leafrom thread.

Here's my Odin output:

"Download Start...

After this, I installed ROM Manager for CWM. I tried doing backup rom and it says CWM must be flashed or what not. I tried booting to CWM recovery and recovery looks just like normal. What am I missing?

Sidenote - I am running leafrom 0.2. Install-recovery.sh was in the system/etc folder and I deleted it after reading shabby's post. Ran Odin again, no change.

Nevermind, deleting install-recovery.sh did the trick, I just had to reboot. However, the ROM Manager still doesn't detect that I have CWM, although I was able to boot to CWM recovery just fine. Thanks for all the work!

I have a similar report as ziggskt: CWM Recovery working for me, even though ROM manager doesn't detect that I have flashed CWM. However, I didn't have to delete anything, though I'm also using LeafRom 0.2.

I can report the same as you. Can boot to cwm recovery but cwm rom manager does not detect it, probably because of how it was installed. Does this make sense Shabby?

rom manager wont work properly til koush adds support for this phone, honestly no idea on how long that could be, no real big deal we have an app called acs updater. from there you can download themes roms etc as they become available :)

So I downloaded acs updater and it says there is nothing for this phone..

Hey Firehak, remember that issue with bluetooth that I had mentioned? I finally got around to troubleshooting it. I had put the phone back to basic leafrom 2.0, and it still froze. This time, though, the phone wouldn't restart, and the sprint repair center couldn't even do anything, so they replaced it. Seems probable that the bluetooth radio was physically failing and causing my issues.

Anyways, so now I have a new replenish with the latest updates that I was able to root just fine. Do we have any need of the cwm backups for ef27 still, or are we good?

I'm Have some trouble installing cmw in virtual box on a mac as the host win xp as the guest

and it just freezes there. Is there any native mac app to flash this?

hi i am LOST at how to get CWM on my Samsung Replenish!! I had my first bricked because i tried to go through ROM Manager and install the Geekphone recovery, now my old phone wont turn on for anything! Charging--nope
Recovery--nope
Hold Power--nope
Download mode--nope
(if you know how to fix it i would LOVE that)
So now i am COMPLETELY paranoid with my new one!! I have it rooted through the KMS method.
So can you please tell me step by step how to get the CWM on my phone? I would LOVE to use UOT Kitchen to make it all awesome and stuff
If some one could PLEASE PM me

You need to have your phone hard rooted, not just soft rooted (which is what KMS or other normal rooting methods offer). To do that, you're going to need to edit the boot.img file, I believe. I looked into doing it myself for a couple of hours, but haven't had a chance to pursue it yet.

These are the links I read:
HOWTO: Unpack, Edit, and Re-Pack Boot Images
How To Install A Custom Recovery To An Android Phone / Device
What Is ClockworkMod Recovery And How To Use It On Android [Complete Guide]

so if go through ROM Manager and install the geekphone recovery. The phone is no good no more if the it won't power or charge? Because I did the same = (

Working on my Wife's phone and things are not so happy. I've got it running LeafRom 0.2, stuff is working. used the update to get rid of the OTA update. Got Odin going, Download mode good to go. OPS file SPHM580.ops. One package clicked and CWM-Replenish-Shabby.tar. Click start, it starts to upload the recovery.img. Gets to about halfway and goes into reset. I'm thinking ok, the meter is still going...life is good. Gets to 5:07 and changes to pass. I'm thinking...life is good. Not so much. Rebooting to recovery with ADB shows stock recovery. Tried deleting install-recovery.sh, no go...Stock recovery. After running Odin, do I have to install Rom Manager? and If so, installing it, which phone model should I select? I'm using the Optimus S so things are a bit different. :) with the optimus, all I had to do was install the recovery.sh and BAM, cwm or Xionia recovery. Is it different with the Replenish?

Shabby's ops file was not intended for the optimus. It won't work. So if your phone does not boot, you may be dead int he water at this point.

No no...My phone is the optimus. It's working fine. I was just trying to reference the differences between loading a recovery on IT vs the Replenish. My Wife's phone is the replenish that I'm trying to install the CWM recovery... Sorry for confusion. Phone boots, just keep getting stock recovery instead of CWM. Do I need to install Rom manager to get it working?

EDIT: Also, has the flash_image method been tried and failed for replenish?
