activation fee waived with AOL email

So I spoke to a Sprint representative and they informed me that if i have an AOL email acct and mention it before getting the phone, that i would have the activation fee waived. However when i went up to the store so that they can check my credit and determine if they required a deposit, i failed to mention the acct before hand and i was informed that they could no longer waive it since i didn't tell them before they checked my eligibility.

My question is if I go up there to get the Evo 3d do they have to go with the previous credit check, or can i do a completely new eligibility check and mention the AOL email before hand?

Any help is appreciated.

What? sounds like some BS, tell them you want the activation fee waived! Its simple as that, argue and tell them you will not be upgrading or getting their service if they don't waive it for you. I have been a sprint customer for over 4 years, never been charged an activation fee.
