Hi, I've got a sprint galaxy note 4 and whenever I back out of facebook, it's still showing in my active application. Most of my other applications will go away and not be running in the background. I haven't saw any significant battery drain as well.

Facebook used to constantly run in the background on my phone and I would lose battery from it. I actually just yesterday uninstalled facebook and installed Fast

Faebook may show up as active, but that's not really correct.

Facebook runs, but as a service-only process. IOW, it sits in memory, kinda idling but barely doing anything, waiting for instructions or for something to happen such as a new message. Much like an email app or messaging app.

Working properly, Facebook shouldn't be a heavy hit to the battery. That said, it does tend to use a little more power than email or messaging apps.

I'm only speaking from personal experience. I find I lose less battery if I use a facebook client like Fast than the actual facebook app but that's just from my experience

Well, like I said, *working properly* it's not a heavy hit to you battery. Problem is Facebook is notorious for not always working properly.
