Hi,
I just bought a Pixel 2 XL and think there may be a glitch with Active Edge/Assistant. When I squeeze the phone with the screen off one of two things happen. First, the assistant might pop up immediately with it listening. This is perfect and how I would expect the feature to always work. Second, after a squeeze I might see my lock screen with no assistant. If I swipe up to unlock, there is the assistant on my home screen but it is not listening. This is obviously the much less desirable result. The problem is that whether I get the first or second result seems completely random. I'd say that the second result seems to happen maybe 70% of the time. Do I have a defective phone? Is this a known software glitch that Google is working on?
Other potentially pertinent details:
I'm on 8.1.0
I have ambient display set to "always on" and double tap to check phone on.
I have not set any type of security i.e. fingerprint, password, etc. as I just like the swipe to unlock option.
If someone could try these settings and give their phone a squeeze a few times and let me know if they are getting a consistent result (and what that is) I would greatly appreciate it.
