Apologies if this is a repeat issue. I am new to the forum and searching the threads didn't seem to reveal any repeats although google searches seem to indicate there is some history with this issue.
I have a new Incredible and the 2.2 update was completed this morning. I am trying to access my windows live mail via ActiveSync (Microsoft recently enabled this feature). Reports on the web indicate that some android phones have been able to connect to and sync their accounts. I have tried the following in the account setup:
Email address: MyEmail@live.com
Server address: m.hotmail.com
Domain:
Username: MyEmail@live.com
Password: MyPassword
SSL is checked
When I hit 'Next' the account verification is successful. I then check off the items that I want synced (Contacts and Calendar) and hit 'Finish Setup'. It goes to work for a few seconds and comes back saying 'Failed to creat the account. Please try again later'.
Web searches have shown that other people get this message with other exchange servers. For what it's worth I don't believe that the problem is specific to the windows live mail activesync implementation, but I'm not quite sure.
Thanks for any help.
I've heard that it works on Droid X....anybody know if that's true? I also hear that Droid X supports multiple activesync accounts and that incredible only supports 1 activesync account. That one true too?
