Actual release date of the at&t sg3?

I am baffled that I cannot read these forums (or search Google) and definitively conclude what day I would be able to walk into an AT&T store and purchase an SG3 phone and walk out the door with one in my hand.

I was under the impression that the availability for in-store purchase was either Monday, June 18th or Thursday, June 21st.

But in reading this article (link below), it says that AT&T still hasn't offiically stated the release date:
Samsung Galaxy S3 at AT&T: Release Date Not Set In Stone Yet

Even though I don't really plan on buying an AT&T SG3 (I pre-ordered the Verizon version), I would like to know what day I can go into the AT&T store and finally hold one of these phones in my hands to see what they feel like.

Tampaguy, it's all about marketing. Samsung is purposely being coy about the release date. This is their flagship phone and they want to build the excitement. They love the fact that we are all spending our weekend on here speculating about it! The anticipation is boiling over. There is no accident here, that is all done on purpose, it is meticulous marketing.

That said, there are some very convincing rumors of a June 21st release date, which I believe to be the truth. There is at least one rumor of a June 18th date. As jcp006 wrote, we have another thread debating this.

I see it as not debating but having a lively discussion while we wait for the device to be released.

I am sorry to have started a duplicate thread. I did attempt to find this information before I posted a new thread as I was very interested to know when I would be able to see this phone in person.

However, I am having a hard to believing that this is a "meticulous marketing ploy" by Samsung. Over the years, I have seen flag ship phone launches come and go, and I always remembered knowing when the actual release date was going to be at least a week ahead of time.

I don't think anyone can be critical of Apple with their marketing strategy, and they are always very clear of their launch dates about 2 weeks before the product launches. To me, the Samsung GS3 launch seems more like a marketing debacle than a cleverly crafted launch. I'm seriously questioning if they have inventory to support a launch this week.

Samsung is having their official North America launch event in NYC on the 20th and I believe they will make everything crystal clear then.

I disagree with you, I believe they have been planning this for months, the inventory is ready to go, and they are going to put on quite a show. We'll just have to wait and see.

Most manufacturer's launch their phone, and then start selling it 2 weeks later. Samsung has chosen to launch and then start selling (presumably) the very next day. Is that because they are disorganized? Maybe. But I think they chose to do it on purpose.

As far as Apple goes, since you bring THAT up, do they have enough inventory to cover launch day demand?? Apple always has people turned away launch day, right??

Even Apple has never attempted a WORLDWIDE launch within a months timeframe.!
As someone says here, official party is on the 20th in NY.
Sure they may not have enough inventory to cover ALL launch day demand, but more because of HiGH demand. Also remember that ATT has a LOT of say in the info that comes out. Sprint and T-Mo have made their dates official.

I still think this launch has been a total cluster.

I honestly can't believe that it is 7:30 the night before the supposed launch and AT&T can't even be bothered to release a simple statement with some sort information. It is actually pretty freaking insulting.
