Ad Hoc connection

I've read about the procedure for making the nook color be able to connect to an ad hoc connection (using adb), my question is do you have to do that procedure every single time you want to switch from infrastructure to ad hoc, or is there a way to toggle easily between the two once you do the initial procedure? I ask because I would love to get my nook tethered to my original droid which only does ad hoc tethering.

Mine is set up that you can pick whatever you want. Once I did this, my fascinate shows up in the wireless connections and can be picked at any time once I turn the tethering on for my phone.

Could you briefly describe wat you did, thanks. Also, does the fascinate support infrastructure tethering? Because the original droid only does ad hoc tethering and there lies my problem
