Try the equalizer on custom as well ! It's the top right option after hitting custom. I have a setup as the sound coming from a concert if you're interested

Adapt sound setup guides you through a mini hearing test, so it is very user-specific. Make sure you are in a nearly soundproof room without distractions when you set it up. I ran through it a few times with similar results. I thought my hearing was getting bad until I saw the original post above!

I came up with this pattern upon setting it up.

Disclaimer:
Patterns may differ from octa/quad S4 versions.
I came up with this pattern on my un-rooted Galaxy S4(SHV-E330S) Quad Core "LTE-A" version.

I've been trying to figure out which way is best. Do you really want to do it in a soundproof room if you'll be listening in a different environment or would it make the most sense to run it while you're in whatever environment you'll be in while listening to music?

Adapt sound helped me hear the music better. I really like the feature. As mentioned before though, make sure you're in a quiet room when performing the beep test. Also, remember some headphones are heavily eq'd themselves, so don't try it with Beats by Dre's, know what I'm saying? I'd try and use good quality in-ears with as flat a frequency response as possible. Maybe Etymotics.

Having lost the ability to hear certain tones due to continuous weapon firing, I found that this has helped A LOT. The way music sounds now rather than slightly muffled is quite amazing.

Has anybody been able too hear all the beeps in the set up process? I heard all of them except 2-4 of them.
