I've tried looking for this post but can't seem to find one. I apologize if there is.
Now that we've updated our s7 edge to nougat 7.0 is there a way to adapt the micro SD card? I know in marshmallow there was a manual way if doing it. Will that work for 7.0?
Thanks to all!

Thank you! Has anyone tried this with Android 7.0 or higher? This might sound dumb but there's little to no risk with this correct?

Might build up the courage to try this.

Get a card from a reputable source and split the card to allocate part of capacity to internal memory. Keep in mind that you cannot control what part or which apps goes to the adaptable storage. In case of a card failure it can end up as a huge disaster.

I will do just that. Since I pre-ordered the note 7 when it first came out I received the 256 SD card. I was planning on using that.

If you know anything about RAID configurations on a pc, it is similar to that and this is one reason why Samsung isn't too keen on the idea. As Bosbouer stated, it could be a disaster. Data could be mixed between internal and external sd so when the external is removed, half of the data could be on the internal storage. In addition the speed of the internal storage is much faster than any external sd card which could affect performance.

I had a 64 Gb SanDisk extreme pro setup as adaptable storage. I noticed a marked reduction in overall performance with the setup. Once reversed speed was back to normal. I had to format the card in my pc and then again in edge to get it recognised.

For me, the risk outweighs the benefits. You're probably better off doing some spring cleaning around those apps and keep the SD as storage.

I recommend only doing this with Samsung cards: other brands have a tendency to fail under the tender care of Galaxy devices, in my experience.

Bad news. The adoption didn't work. I tried many ways. 100%, 50% but still noting. The commands work fine but the outcome doesnt show the SD card memory added to Internal.

hero2qltevzw:/ $ sm list-disks
disk:179,0
hero2qltevzw:/ $ sm partition disk:179,0 private
hero2qltevzw:/ $ reboot

Nothing!

Any ideas?
