Adaptive charging issues? (Solved)

I picked up the picked the 8pro again. I have noticed that the phone isn't charging completely over night on my wireless charger. It starts charging and adaptive charging says full charge by 630 am. It only charges to around 70% each night.

Has anyone else seen this with this phone? I am going to turn off adaptive charging tonight to see what happens.

Edit: I am using a Magsafe charger which worked with no issues with the fold 5 and s24u. It obviously works with my iPhone, so it's not the charger that is the problem.

Edit 2: I solved the issue. Apparently the pixel has a higher standard for wireless charging. My magsafe charger was plugged into a Samsung usb-c brink. With that brick the pixel wouldn't charge to 100%. Switched it to my iPad usb-c brick and it worked like a charm. This has never been an issue with any of the iPhones I have used with thier magsafe charger haha.

Seeing what happens with adaptive charging turned off is a good idea to troubleshoot your issue.

What wireless charger are you using? What is the maximum wattage the charger can deliver? Do you charge other things at the same time on the charger? Have you tried using cable and plugin charger to see if the same thing happens?

I haven't tried it recently, but some time back I did encounter a similar issue with my 3 in 1 generic wireless charger. Adaptive charging always worked perfectly using cable and my 30W plugin charger, but sometimes didn't work with the 15W wireless charger. Because plugging in at night was not an issue for me, I never pursued the issue further to find the exact cause. I speculated (unscientifically, mind you) that the issue probably had more to do with my generic 15W wireless charger than my Pixel 8 Pro.

The Google Pixel Support Community found HERE may offer some assistance. Just type adaptive charging in search. Good luck!

Mine charges to 80% when I plug it in then stops. The remaining charge happens overnight and It's always 100% by the time my alarm goes off in the morning. Adaptive charging is supposed to behave this way and can be turned off if you'd like your phone to charge to 100% when you put it on the charger.

The issue is that it's not charging to 100%. I see where it says it will be 100% when my alarm goes off but it never does.

Even with adaptive charging off it still won't charge to 100% wirelessly. I have another wireless charger I am going to try tonight and see what happens.

Is the wireless charger you are "using (used) tonight" Qi certified? For more accurate testing of your issue, it might be best to use a Qi certified wireless charger and not another Magsafe wireless charger for a comparison of results. Qi is the official wireless standard for the Pixel 8 series.

Apparently the magsafe charger and the pixel 8 pro hate each other lol. It will not charge this phone to 100%. My shitty 5+ year old $20 dollar wireless charger will lol.
