Since each phone reacts differently to roms and other modifications such as CWM, I would ask this question, with as much detail as possible of what you've already done, in the forum area for your specific phone.

As a side note, ADB itself isn't harmful. Nor is a hammer, or a chainsaw. Wielded improperly and great damage can be done.
