Hey Android Community,

Once again i come to you with an open mind and confusing questions. As I had said before in other posts, I'm pretty new to android. The thuinderbolt is my first android device so i'm new to everything here.

My question is:

What is one click rooting? from what i read in these forums it seems as if its a simplified way of rooting your phone as supposed to using the ADB thing that Cory Strreater had posted about.

Ultimately, i would like to root my phone so it can reach its true potential. Now, Here is the real question.
Should i use Cory Streater's procedure of using ADB for rooting or should i use the 1-click method for the MOST SIMPLIFIED, MOST EASY EXPERIENCE OF ROOTING.

Thanks in advance people! :)

The only difference is that the "one-click" method automatically enters the adb commands for you so you don't have to copy and paste.

i like more ADB you can go back one step if something goes wrong with one click root is just foward!

There isn't a true one-click root method yet. There's still a good deal of work that goes into the ones currently available. I used one of them and had no issues, but it's not as simple as a single click.

Upstreammiami has a good point about the manual method. It is (usually) much easier to fix something if you accidentally do something wrong or out of order.

ADB root was scary at first but I'm rooted with it and couldn't be easier. Corey is the MAN when it comes to write-UPS. Follow it.

werd. most likely gona follow Cory's. props to him for the post.

reading the one-click thread, people are having issues...dont like that

there is an assumption that one clicks are easier, i have found in my months of being here that people have more problems with automated methods than they do adb. The adb method is transparent , therefore more simplified. Like upstream said, trying to troubleshoot 1click methods are a little more difficult

The biggest advantage to learning ADB is that when you do have a serious problem, knowing basic ADB could be the difference between a save and a $700 paperweight. I rooted with the down and dirty method in less than a half an hour, as opposed to reading some of the posts of the "easy" methods that people have been taking an hour or two trying to get to work.

Just take your time, pay attention to what you are typing (or copying and pasting), and don't be afraid to ask questions. We were all noobs at one time.

BTW Cory's How-to just about made me want to buy a Macbook to root with. JK.

Pleeeeeease, please, please, please, please trust me when I say that Cory's guide is flawless and makes life INCREDIBLY easy. I promise you that if you have EVER used adb, this method is 100x easier, and actually brings you full instructions instead of half-ass "You should already know how to do this.." ones.

Don't believe me? You haven't been following my rooting experience... Here ya go.

I think I started on about page 3 with issues.

Tbolt.. On a postign spree giving kudo's.. LOL I love it!

Hey, OneClick =/= Easy root. It's pretty misleading; mainly because you're already expected to know how to do everything in the process. Being told to follow instructions that tell you to follow more instructions that essentially say "I hope you know what you're doing!" is wayyyyy more frustrating than copying and pasting into cmd from Cory's guide. Lol

I know how you feel. Beign in the Tech field myself. I fully understand though. When you have done it for a long time, you assume certain things.

However this forum does help way more than others.

Easy Root = Perfect World(right now) = NOT! LOL

Winning! Duh!
