adblocking stock phone

no root. Whats the best adblockers out there? Just installed handcent and the ads are killing it for me. I'll go back to the factory messenger before I get innundated with ads.

i didn't know you could block ads without root all i know is that i use to use adfree or something but now Reborn ROM blocks adds by itself so i don't have to use anything anymore

You can't block ads without rooting. And Handcent AFAIK is ad-free anyway so I have no clue what the OP is talking about.

OP, download Z4Root, activate the temporary root, then push a modified HOSTS file to the /system/etc directory on your phone. Reboot, and be ad free.

doesn't Z4Root only work on V9 baseband i think the only one click root method for anything higher is Ginger Break (Z4Root could of been updated since i last used it though but i doubt it because if it did work why would Ginger Break still be under development)
