Adding picture to SIM contacts

It doesn't seem to let you. Only contacts saved to the phone itself.

Do you guys use your contacts as SIM card contacts?

Just a question but if you are using a smartphone from now on, what's the real benefit to keeping contacts on the SIM? I realize that it was needed when switching older phones but now whether we are using iPhone, Android, Blackberry or whatever, contacts are easily stored via a cloud service and pushed to the device. So I'm really just wondering the benefit. Excuse my ignorance and I never once stored contacts on a SIM..... even back in the day LOL.

I didn't realize they were and don't know how to change it. I think my prior phone did it by itself.

never could get a 'soft menu' to appear
if I use a business card scanner app I can modify the picture
oh well
