I think that's the icon for Performance Mode.

Looks like your right , I'm looking now at the status bar at very top past where Op circled to the right , that's performance mode

I can't seem to get rid of it ...removed some 3rd party apps ...but no joy yet !

ok so for information it wa becasue my phone was in high performance mode ...so i switched to Optimised and all ok ...phew ! ...thanks guys

Glad you found it , easiest way is to pull the notification panel down and long press battery saver icon takes you to that setting
