Adhesive on Tempered Glass Screen Protectors for Galaxy S8

Why do Makers of Screen protectors only put adhesive on the edges instead of the whole thing?

Is the adhesive so expensive that the makers can only put it on the edges?

Because it is impossible to exactly match the curvature of the screen. You will end up with bubbles or rainbow effect. People do sell sticky films that has adhesive on the entire surface, just not glass.
