Got my Nexus 4 yesterday and according to Kevin it is mind blowing but I have not found a single mind blowing thing about this device. I have made a kind of unboxing video (though it is not unboxing but....) which I would attach here in few minutes as a proof that I am a owner of Nexus 4 but I speak truth rather than oh my device is best out there. I have also made videos of few of the games that I have installed and I would also share them here. Truth is that I have found nothing to be exciting about as far as performance is concerned. No matter whatever you say about the Note 2 hardware it is giving me much better gaming as well as apps performance. Even facebook works much better on Note 2 than Nexus 4 which at times fail to bring comments and get the circle just kept on spinning. Also the device runs hot, the CPU temp is ok but battery temp is way to high even under then normal use. It has severe thermal throttling problem which I have confirmed after running apps like CPU Spy, Battery Dr Saver and System Tunner for monitoring of Temp as well as cores and frequency. Under normal use Nexus is very close to thermal throttling and as soon as you start any game within couple of minutes it starts to throttle and game start of lag. What is so mind blowing about it?

The first time I ran the benchmark and I got very low score and I was wondering what is going now and then I found this problem. For GL Benchmark to score properly I have to leave the device idle for few minutes and let it cool down. After that I ran the test and it gave me onscreen and offscreen score of GL Benchmark HD 2.5 as 39 and 30 which is very good but if I am using the phone regularly i.e. web browsing etc. and I start the benchmark then score comes out 25 and 18 only. This is again because of thermal throttling issue. What good is the hardware which can not perform according to its potential. Either there is problem with S4 Pro or Nexus 4 design but it is too bad. I like the screen though. The battery life is also below avg on Nexus 4 or may be I spoiled by Note 2 and iPhone battery life.

The touchwiz Jelly Bean update made a noticeable performance improvement on my coworkers S3. He noticed it, and isn't a phone geek.

Software matters. If for no other reason than security patches. There are also new features, like Google Now. With all the bloat of Touchwiz, though, it might not be noticeable.

If you do not like Touch wiz then root and install CM 10.1. I personally like what Touch Wizz offer as extra which really enhance the experience. Nexus devices always lack in appeal and hardware but I thought Nexus 4 is different after considering the design and hardware. I have used Galaxy Nexus as well which I only kept for 2 weeks because it was bad at everything.

and why exactly they do not validate my arguments when clearly Note 2 is doing better in gaming as compared to Nexus 4. There are tons of video and that is not just any random video. It was my friend who made it. Now I have my Nexus 4 and I have made videos of gaming. Show me where is the mind blowing performance? I am going to share those videos here.

I am not beating a dead horse rather I am wondering why would you call a device with hardware problem called mind blowing? Why would I let this thread die when I clearly see Nexus 4 is over rated and flawed device and people who own it think that it is the best thing ever happened to android. How can you compare a device with so many problems with something as awesome as note 2. Camera is crap, sound not good, performance not good, runs hot and throttle all the time. So many compromised just to get better peformance is games and apps but guess what it do not even deliver that. Nexus devices has retained their crappy device crown even with nexus 4. Such a shame. Can not play any game more than 2 mins on this device. Even in normal operation battery is too hot because of hardware flaw. Note 2 battery after 30 mins of Nova 3 or modern combat 4 has temp 36c max whereas 36c is nothing for nexus 4 as it goes up to 41 to 43c in jst 15-20 minutes of gaming. It start to throttle in just couple of minutes of gaming then how come it is mind blowing? Owning something does not make it awesome rather performance makes a device awesome which nexus 4 clearly does not have.

A device considered mind blowing by people has throttling problem and I have made a video demonstrating the issue. Even if you raise the limit to 43c it would not solve the problem because it would start to throttle at 43c just like Optimus G does now. The reality is that LG has made a crappy hardware as battery is not suppose to run that hot anyway.

If playing games on a telephone is your thing then so be it. I have 2 PS3s, 1 Xbox 360, PSP, and a gaming computer that I play games on. Phone games are not even close to providing the experience you get from console/PC gaming. Go out and buy a Vita. To knock a phone because it don't play games for the hour or how long you play them is ridiculous. For what the Nexus provides I am totally satisfied with how it handles apps, phone calls, and the OS.

Every phone these days handles this stuff good enough so whats the point of Nexus and S4 Pro in it? S4 pro with Adreno 320 was made powerful for games not to run the phone functions alone. Gaming is what has made iOS so popular and gaming industry is going mobile. Gaming is the biggest test of a device ability and power so I am using it as a test.

Lolz who said that I don't have console? I have better device to play games on but do I carry them all the time with me? Phone going everywhere with me and waiting in que or waiting for your turn while playing games makes the wait easier.

For gaming I have two slim PS3, Wii, PSP Go, Vita, ipad 4, ipod touch, nexus 7 etc. when I am supposedly buying a so called powerful phone then I expect it to perform well in all the functions that it is supposed to offer me and gaming is one of them and this is why google play store is full of games. I do not play games everyday on my consoles because I do not get time for that but iPad 4 and my phone serve me well to satisfy my gaming needs. On weekends I do play PS3, Vita or Wii. I do not carry my PS Vita everywhere. I have paid for S4 pro performance then I should expect that not a handicapped type of performance. Should I also stop using my mobile phone camera as well because nexus 4 camera is crap and carry a DSLR or point to shot all the time with me?

OK you may have some points but you forget one thing a nexus device will always have issues with its first build which as the note 1 or 2 had enough time to be optimized.. Once the nexus gets their bug fixes you will see the difference ..not downgrading the note just saying don't be quick to pull the trigger on a device thats only been out for 1 month

The colors aren't muted they're accurate.

Sorry you are disappointed with the phone. As most people have pointed out this phone is an experience, as in software. See where the Note 2 is after a year. I'm betting still on JB. If you are not happy with the phone and from the sound of it you aren't, then just go with the Note 2. It seems as though you are very abrasive to peoples comments when everyone else here seems happy with their Nexus 4.
