Does anyone know of an app that allows you to alter the notifications of Android?

Look into the app where the notification comes. There are system notifications in system settings. Message settings in contacts ...etc. There is the pull down also

I have an HTC Desire X as my work phone running 4.1.1 and since updating it to 4.1.1 I can't stop the notifications whenever I get an email/reminder etc from Touchdown which connects to our mobile services. Is there any way of stopping this, as it's got to the stage of having to power off the phone or put it on silent every night to stop it shooting off alerts all night. However, that then stops me from receiving any calls.
