Advice for an EVO to Thunderbolt Switcher?

Hey everybody! I currently have the EVO. I am going to be going to Verizon and getting the Thunderbolt. I love Sprint and we recently made some tough decisions on what carrier to go to. We have accumulated 3 of the four major carriers and have been paying $410 a month for a these lines/accounts. We needed to clean this up a bit and Verizon is where we are going. I love HTC phones and I believe the EVO is still top notch and figured the Thunderbolt is just a Verizon EVO and I should get it since I love the EVO. My problem is, I really have established a lot of data and settings galore on my EVO since launch day and I realize due to a different version of sense and what not, I will have some troubles transferring my data easily. It's not as easy as doing a nand restore. So, what I am getting at, is how can I transfer all my stuff from the EVO to the Thunderbolt without leaving ANYTHING behind on the EVO? I certainly can't come up with a list of all my data and think of everything I have done to my EVO to transfer. I am rooted, obviously, and I do use Titanium backup. Also, If I use an app of some sort to do this, I don't want to be restoring old versions of default apps and Sprint apps(to this VERIZON phone) etc. You know what I mean? Some help on this data transferring headache?

That's a tough one. Personally I would be concerned about potential conflicts due to carrier specific OS parts or custom ROM's. Is it possible, probably, data I can see, but settings may have to be done manually.

Thanks for your reply! So, you think Titanium would cause conflicts, huh? I suppose I could transfer my SD card data to the new one and use Astro to restore my market apps and then manually go through each of the EVO's apk's and manually input most things into the Thunderbolt. I guess I could take a weekend and do it by hand. I'm still open to other suggestions if anyone else wants to chime in....

To be honest, even though both phones are from HTC, pretty much on the same platform, the best you can do is try. But when you try to move data from one device and unless you are putting it on a replacement of the same I personally would rather take the time to rebuild, if only to clean out settings and other things you may find you no longer need.

I would post this question over at the xda-developers forum, there you will find the talented folks who build the stuff we dream of. That's not to say someone here won't come along and know far more than I do.

Cheers.

Yeah. I may just give it a try. And I probably will post over at xda, I already have a user name there. However you are probably right, it might be a good thing to go through everything. Much safer too. Running the RUU can be more of a pain than its worth to experiment too much. Thanks!

Glad I could help. Its fun to tweak and play around with your new hardware. You may find new ways of doing things on the TB :)
