i have adw launcher. i have an empty space on home page and want a widget that is large that shows current weather and time. i dont want to have to tap on it to show this

Have you looked at any of the widgets that came with the phone? If they don't do what you want:

Most of these widgets allow you to set how often they update. The more frequently they update, the more battery they'll use.
