So, this caught my attention and I'm not sure if it was a false positive. Has any one else ever received this notification? I saw this in the Fitbit app when I opened it to see the charge level on my PW2. I noted these alerts correspond with when I woke up to go to the bathroom which is unusual.

I do sleep with the watch on and first thing I do is place it to charge. I didn't notice any messages on the watch. About an hour or so later I open the Fitbit app to check the charge level.

I have forwarded it to my doctor's office for a consultation. Screenshot_20240828-082800.jpg

While it is very possible that there could have been a false positive, it is always best to check in with your doctor, as you have done, so they can hook you up to an actual medical heart monitor to test the watch findings.

I have a history of heart issues, including irregular heartbeat, and over the past year I have been using the Pixel Watch and Fitbit as one of many tools to monitor things. Numerous medical tests, heart/BP monitors, sleep monitors, etc. have shown that the watch, while not perfect, has been pretty darned close on accuracy regarding both heart and sleep.

Finding out that your watch gave you a false positive would certainly be good news, but so would finding a possible heart issue early on.

Thanks. Both the sleep sensing on my Google hub and PW2 were average for a nights sleep for me. CPAP also showed average sleep patterns. Only difference about last night was getting up multiple times. Anyway, waiting for response from doctor and will monitor. Good to know that the watch does a pretty good job at detecting the stuff.

Yes and it's normal, as is my blood pressure and heart rate.

You are welcome. You are likely already aware of this, but just in case you are not, irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia) is separate from, and not related to, blood pressure. There are number of sub-types of arrhythmia and they can be sporadic in nature (mine was). So a normal blood pressure and heart rate reading does not mean that there isn't an arrhythmia. In my case, the only symptoms were occasional unexplained bouts of tiredness/exhaustion and a slight shortness of breath. It should also be noted that some arrhythmias are harmless. Mayo clinic has some good info HERE.

Best of luck.

I don't sleep with my Google Watch 1. But about 1 out of 10 manual readings suggest aFib. But most times normal or inconclusive. I mentioned it to my doc who did not seem impressed.

I've had aFib on and off for about a year. I'm fact, I'm currently in it now since about 3 am this morning. I'd only get alerted to it by seeing my heart rate elevated on my watch face. Then I would run an ECG test to confirm. Today I went into the settings for my watch and realized I could turn on that notification, so I'm going to give that a try to see if that helps give me a heads up.
