After 3 weeks finally got my EVO from Wirefly...but...sigh

So I got my phone today in the mail, i paid extra for next day service because of course i wanted it asap.

All my excitement goes down the drain when the note says my phone wont be active until Monday...wait what?

I chat with their customer service and they tell me they activate the phone 5 days after it ships to ensure I have my phone in hand and charged before they port my number....ok I get that. But my phone is here today ready to go, what was the point of next day shipping if they are going to enforce this?

So I have the phone cant use it until Monday....gonna be a long weekend...

This is beyond lame after 3 weeks of waiting
 
It usually goes through much faster than they tell you so you don't hound them. Just keep checking the phone every few hours. I doubt you'll have to wait anywhere near Monday.

Anyway you can just go to sprint and show them you got your phone and have them activate it? If not, then thats just lame. I'd be upset too.
 
Sucks man but at least you have the phone. Call Sprint and have it activated.
 
I bought a phone from wirefly once and it only took a day for them to port over my number. I don't think it will be long for you at all.

I ordered EVO from wirelfy on 3rd June and got it on 4th June (with free std. shipping) and when I received it - I went through the papers and everything and called the WireFly rep. they said the same thing to me. I asked them can I call Sprint and expedite the process and they said "DON'T DO IT" we have already told Sprint that we need this activated on 5 days from now (9th of June) so if you do, it will confuse them and mess up your account. Obviously, I did not buy it.

Here's what I did - I called Sprint and said I have the Phone in my hand, poring is done - can you help. Rep said sure we can, she activated my account in 2 mins. and my Phone was up and running. I made sure that I told her my account was generated through WireFly, so they don't remove any wireFly code/note or anything from my account - because that gets Wirefly their cut.

So, you can call Sprint and expedite the process but make sure under your account there is a note that it was through WireFly your account was generated or you got your EVO from and they get their cut if not they have can actually charge you for the money they have lost (I confirmed the same on one of their fine printings)

Yeah they told me the same thing DONT CALL SPRINT ! ...thanks for the tip i'll keep that in mind !
 
I hope they refund you the difference between 2nd day shipping and regular ground shipping =[

Either way I'm sure you will LOVE this phone. I've used Blackberry, iPhone(3g), Palm Pre and the EVO is by FAR the Best phone I have EVERRRR had.
