[SOLVED] After Android 15 Update, cannot use text app

I use Next SMS and have a Motorola edge plus 2023 with newly installed Android 15.

I can't send or receive text messages. Can't go into contacts and select text or select text to share a link as in YouTube.

No update available for the app that I don't already have installed.

I cleared cache, stopped app, restarted phone, etc No charges.

I went into settings to reselect Next SMS at my default messaging app and for a pop-up that said what's in the attachment.

I tried

App restrictions settings are used to control which apps can be used and what permissions they have.

Android

• To allow restricted settings for an app on an Android device:
  1. Open Settings
     
     
  2. Tap Apps
     
     
  3. Tap the app you want to change
     
     
  4. Tap More
     
     
  5. • Tap Allow restricted settings
       
     • Follow the on-screen instructions

But, didn't have this option.

Update.
When I try to allow the permission to use Next SMS to message I get that pop-up again. I can't get past that.

I cannot enable Restricted Settings.

Nevermind. I found the three dots when I accessed the settings and next SMS. Hit the three dots and found the restricted access.

You can delete this or leave it modify it for others to see and help.

I hit a little bump...
I added back three widgets for direct call and direct message (text). They are for three contacts that I contact everyday. When I do this, the search function reverts back to non working.

I deleted the widgets by clearing data and the search works again. I'm not sure what the relationship to the widgets and search function not working could be ?

I wonder if this is somehow related to the other issue you posted about (re: not being able to search for company names in contacts until you clear the cache/data).
